Angel investing, if done right it can be a lot of fun & gains.

Angel investing enables you to invest at the early stage of a start-up, in exchange for a share of ownership. The impact your money can make at this early stage is profound and it is a thrilling ride with plenty of upside. It is relatively easy to get into, flash some cash around and they will flock to you like seagulls, but there are risks and things you should be aware of.
The upside is significant if you bet on the right horse (the problem being solved and the team trying to solve it), but don't expect to have much say and be prepared to keep giving (if not cash, then introductions, connections, and if you are lucky the odd piece of advice).
I met a start-up founder at an event, and we got talking. He had the passion I could not match and the seed of an idea that I thought could work. I had the money and an interest in what he was trying to achieve. I am out of the business now, but I loved helping such a passionate guy succeed and feeling like I was appreciated.
